Don’t miss this!

Thanks again for everyone who supported Lincoln Prep by attending the ice skating social at AZ Ice. As usual, the kids had a great time and even enjoyed seeing their teachers gracefully display their skating skills! We also very much enjoyed chatting with parents as they dropped their kids off and always encourage you to stay and visit. We are truly grateful when you do, because we know that it’s the best way to build relationships-IN PERSON!

I can’t think of a better way to meet more Lincoln Prep families than at our upcoming Lincoln Prep Picnic. This family friendly potluck picnic will be on Saturday, March 3rd from 2:30-6:30 at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler. We could not be more excited that Mr. Tope will be there facilitating some games for us! How lucky are we?! Come and join your friends and your teachers for some camaraderie and community building entertainment and great food!

Good for you if you are a 6th grade parent reading the blog this week, because you are the first to see the 6th grade field trip Sign Up Genius! If you are interested in attending the field trip to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum on Tuesday, February 20th, please sign up for your class’ section here.

Please remember that in order to attend field trips or volunteer on campus, you must have your fingerprint clearance. More information on the fingerprinting process and policy can be found on our ‘Volunteer’ page.

Speaking of volunteer needs, we have a couple. We have very few of the same volunteers running the lunch program. I know you hear this weekly from me and I apologize for that, but we have slots that we can’t seem to fill. The bottom line is that if we don’t fill them, we will have to think of our options regarding lunch. If you have any thoughts, please come to our next PSO meeting, as the future of the lunch program will be a topic. In the meantime, please sign up for lunch here.

Another awesome volunteer opportunity has been presented to me by the Great Hearts Main Office. They are requesting that every Great Hearts campus have a liaison to the Great Hearts Gala. I was disappointed to hear that our school was the only campus that was not represented at the Great Hearts Gala last year. We can absolutely change that if we pull together. Let’s proudly represent Lincoln Prep. Two tickets to the Great Hearts Gala is in it for the liaison! See our ‘Volunteer’ page for more information, or please contact me, Terry Burget, at

Our next general PSO meeting is on Wednesday, February 28th after morning drop-off. We are going to be discussing ways to build our Lincoln Prep community, support each other as parents, and how we can be an even better support to our children, teachers and school. We really hope you can find the time to be there.

Enjoy your weekend with your family. Thanks for reading this!
